half-century from Dwayne Smith, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni's late assault, helped Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai by four wickets in the Indian Premier League match in Mumbai, on Saturday.

After being put in to bat, Mumbai posted 157 for six in their 20 overs, Ambati Rayudu hitting 59 from 43 balls.

Chasing a not-too-big target, Smith hit 57 and Dhoni blasted 22 from 12 balls to take Chennai to victory with three balls to spare and end Mumbai's run of 10 successive victories at home.

The last time Mumbai Indians lost an IPL game at the Wankhede Stadium was in 2012.

Mumbai lost an early wicket when opener CM Gautam was caught at square leg off leg-spinner Samuel Badree for nine, in the third over of the innings.

Lendl Simmons rallied Mumbai with a brisk 38 from as many balls, putting on 61 runs for the second wicket with Ambati Rayudu.

The Chennai opener was unlucky to be given out leg before wicket for 13 to a delivery which looked to be sliding down the leg side.
