Zaheer underwent a fitness test at the Wankhede stadium during the lunch break of the Ranji Trophy match between Mumbai and Railways.

The veteran pacer bowled for nearly 30 minutes on the practice pitch adjoining the match pitch after he did some stretching exercises on the sidelines.

He looked in no discomfort or any pain during the fitness test, which was conducted as the selection meeting began at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai.

Zaheer walked off the field with cramps on day three of Mumbai's Ranji Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh but he was ruled fit for the first Test against England, to be played in Ahmedabad from November 15-19.
