# Dhawan reached his century off 80 balls -- the second quickest by an Indian batsman vs South Africa in ODIs. Yusuf Pathan had a 68-ball century at Centurion on January 23, 2011. The fastest hundred against South Africa is Matthew Hayden's 66-ball innings at St.Kitts on March 24, 2007;

# Dhawan's century knock is the highest at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, bettering Virat Kohli's 107 off 102 balls against England on September 16, 2011.

Ryan McLaren (71 not out off 61 balls) and Robin Peterson (68 off 72 balls) recorded their maiden fifties in ODIs.

# A B de Villiers (70 off 71 balls) registered his 33rd fifty in ODIs -- his fourth against India. For the first time in ODIs, he has posted four consecutive fifties -- 128, 75 & 95 not out vs Pakistan and 70 vs India at Cardiff.

# Peterson and de Villiers were associated in a partnership of 124 -- South Africa's highest third-wicket partnership against India in the ICC Champions Trophy.

# South Africa have lost all three games to India in the ICC Champions Trophy -- by 95 runs at Nairobi on October 13, 2000, by ten runs at Colombo, RPS on September 25, 2002 and by 26 runs at Cardiff on June 6, 2013.

# India (331/7) recorded their highest total in the Champions Trophy, eclipsing the 307/8 against Australia at Dhaka on October 28, 1998. The total is their second highest against South Africa in ODIs behind the 401 for three at Gwalior on February 24, 2010.

First team to register two totals of 300 or more at Sofia Gardens

India have become the first team to register two totals of 300 or more at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. They had made 304 for six against England on September 16, 2011. Their score of 331 for seven is the highest by any team at Sophia Gardens.

# India's above total is the second highest in the ICC Champions Trophy, next only to the 347 for four by New Zealand against USA at The Oval on September 10, 2004.

# South Africa (305) recorded their highest total against India while batting second in ODIs.

# Of the last four ODIs played by South Africa in England, they have lost three and won just one.

The match aggregate of 636 for 17 wickets is a record in the Champions Trophy, eclipsing the 624 for 17 wickets between South Africa and England at Centurion on September 27, 2009.

# Rohit Sharma (65 off 81 balls) posted his first fifty against South Africa -- his 14th in ODIs.

# Rohit and Dhawan were associated in a partnership of 127 -- India's first century stand for the first wicket against South Africa in the Champions Trophy. The last Indian opening pair to post a century stand on foreign soil was Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir -- 201 (unbroken) against New Zealand in 2009.
