India suffered its second successive overseas series whitewash on Saturday after Australia won th fourth and final Test of the series in Adelaide by 298 runs. It gave the hosts a 4-0 series sweep.
On of the main reasons for the poor showing in the Tests Down Under was the inability of the once-famed batting line-up to deliver.
Most of the batsmen, including captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the opening pair of Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, and veterans Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman failed to come to terms with pace and bounce of the wickets.
While Dhoni scored 102 runs from six innings at an average of 20.40, Sehwag (198) and Gambhir (181) were a disaster at the top, averaging a mere 24.75 and 22.62 respectively.
Here's a look at the players' showing in the four Tests.
