India's pace spearhead Zaheer Khan will leave for South Africa on Tuesday night to receive treatment for a heel injury.

The left arm seamer, who led the Indian attack in the 337-run loss to Australia in the first Test in Melbourne but had to miss the remainder of the Australia tour because of the injury, is hoping to speed up his recovery and get fit for South Africa's tour of India in March.

'My leg is still in cast, but I am heading for South Africa where I will consult a few doctors.

"I have been undergoing treatment and it's been around four weeks now that I am out of action," Zaheer told rediff.com on Tuesday evening before leaving, adding he is looking forward to playing against the South Africans.
