Rain delays start of SA-SL World T20 match

Heavy rain delayed the start of South Africa-Sri Lanka World Twenty20 match at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota, on Saturday.

A five-over game can start latest by 1815 local time but if it continues to rain or if the outfield is not conducive for cricket at that time, the match will be called off.

Already assured of their places in the Super Eights stage of the tournament, both Sri Lanka and South Africa would be looking to end their group assignments on a high.

In the second match of the day, Australia take on West Indies in Colombo at 1930 local time.

Sri Lanka: Mahela Jayawardene (captain), Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Shaminda Eranga, Rangana Herath, Nuwan Kulasekara, Lasith Malinga, Ajantha Mendis, Jeevan Mendis, Dilshan Munaweera, Akila Dananjaya, Thisara Perera, Kumar Sangakkara, Lahiru Thirimanne.
