Before the start of the World Cup, hosts India were touted as one of the favourites for the title. But a few weeks into the tournament, their title credentials are under a question mark with every match.

While the batting lived up to its top billing, the bowlers have looked pedestrian in every outing. Even against minnows The Netherlands and Ireland, India's bowling lacked the firepower.

Team India in trainingThe team selection has also been quite strange, and young leggie Piyush Chawla has somehow kept his place in the side despite ordinary performances in the first three games. He was surprisingly retained in the team against the Dutch on Wednesday.

Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's explanation was weird: 'Piyush needs his bit of time in the middle; needs confidence; R Ashwin is mentally stronger'.

The team has thus far failed to inspire and the players look to be going through the motions. It is a concern heading into the important games against South Africa and the West Indies, followed by the knock-out stages.

What, in your wisdom, is lacking in the Indian team? Is it the killer punch?
