Sreesanth not satisfied with performance in WC final

April 05, 2011 09:51 IST

Temperamental pacer S Sreesanth, who gave away 52 runs in 8 overs in the final of the ICC World Cup against Sri Lanka, on Monday said he was "not satisfied" with his performance.

Talking to reporters at the airport after arriving from Mumbai, Sreesanth said, however, he was "extremely happy" to have been a member of the title-winning squad and also pleased to have played in the final.

Sreesanth was a surprise pick for the tie, being chosen ahead of spinner R Ashwin following an injury to first-choice pacer Ashish Nehra.

He was received at the airport by his parents Santhakumaran Nair and Savithri Devi and officials of the Kerala Cricket Association and Kochi Tuskers Kerala, who bought him in the IPL auction in January.

A huge crowd of supporters had gathered at the airport to receive Sreesanth.
