We should have won 3-0 in the Caribbean: Bedi

Former India captains Bishan Singh Bedi and Kapil Dev lauded the Indian cricket team for winning the one-day and Test series against the West Indies, and complimented captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on the unique feat.

"We could, and should, have won the Test series by 3-0. Lack of killing spirit on the part of Dhoni cost us two wins.

"With 47 overs, and a 180-plus to score, I strongly feel that Dhoni should have picked up the challenge and gone all out to win, despite losing three wickets for 30-odd runs, instead of pulling down the shutters," Bedi told rediff.com on Monday morning.

Kapil was hopeful of the team doing well on the upcoming tour of England.

"The captain and his team have achieved a great feat and need to be complimented.

"I hope Dhoni will continue to do good work in England, where Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Zaheer Khan will add to the strength of the Indian team," Kapil said.

The two Indian cricket legends agreed that the find of the tournament was Ishant Sharma, who was adjudged man of the series.

"He has proved himself on this tour," they said.

Asked about the 400 wickets' landmark achieved by Harbhajan Singh, Bedi and Kapil, however, did not share the same view.

"Harbhajan has achieved what few bowlers do. Getting 400 hundred wickets is not everyone's cup of tea," Kapil said.

Bishan, who has always been sceptical of Harbhajan's bowling skills, though said he did not find it fit to discuss the topic.
