Stats: Sehwag's 219 is his first hundred as captain

Statistical highlights from the fourth One-dayer between India [ Images ] and the West Indies [ Images ] played in Indore on Thursday.

# Virender Sehwag [ Images ] is now the sixth Indian to reach 8,000 runs or more in ODIs, aggregating 8025 at an average of 35.66 in 240 matches, joining Sachin Tendulkar [ Images ] (18,111), Sourav Ganguly [ Images ] (11363), Rahul Dravid [ Images ] (10889), Mohammad Azharuddin [ Images ] (9378) and Yuvraj Singh [ Images ] (8051).

# Sehwag's 219 is his first hundred as captain.

# Sehwag's century is the highest individual innings in ODIs -- 219 off 149 balls, overtaking Sachin Tendulkar's unbeaten 200 off 147 balls against South Africa [ Images ] at Gwalior on February 24, 2010.

# Sehwag is the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to make a double century in ODIs. Both the batsmen have recorded double centuries in the state of Madhya Pradesh [ Images ].

# Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir [ Images ] shared a stand of 176 for the first wicket, emulating Ajay Jadeja and Sachin Tendulkar, who had shared 176 for the first wicket against West Indies at Cuttack on November 9, 1994.

# The Indian record for the first wicket against the West Indies is 196 between Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag at Rajkot on November 12, 2002.

# Sehwag has scored 32 boundaries (25 fours and seven sixes) in his innings -- a new record in ODIs. Also, for the first time, he has recorded seven sixes in an innings.

# Sri Lankan Sanath Jayasuriya's [ Images ] superb 189 against India at Sharjah on October 29, 2000 was the previous highest by a captain in ODIs.

# Sehwag has recorded 15 hundreds -- the third highest by an Indian, next only to Sachin Tendulkar (48) and Sourav Ganguly (22). Against West Indies, he has two hundreds to his credit.

# India have won 14 games when Sehwag has posted a hundred.

# Sehwag got his 23rd Man of the Match award in ODIs and the second against West Indies.

# Sehwag became the second batsman after Tendulkar to register 25 fours in an ODI innings.

# Sehwag, thanks to his double hundred, is averaging 53.75 in ODIs this year -- 645 in twelve innings, including two hundreds and one fifty.

# Sehwag is now the first player to register two triple centuries In Tests apart from one double century in ODIs.

# Sehwag's marvellous feat of making 142 runs through boundaries is the second highest in ODIs, behind Shane Watson's [ Images ] 150 (15 fours and 15 sixes) during his great knock of 185 not out off 96 balls for Australia [ Images ] against Bangladesh at Dhaka on April 11, 2011.

# Sehwag reached his century off 69 balls -- the quickest for India against the West Indies in ODIs, eclipsing his own record. He had registered a 75-ball century against the West Indies at Rajkot on November 12, 2002.

# Sehwag took 149 balls for his marvellous innings -- the most by him in an innings, eclipsing the 140 balls faced by him while posting 175 against Bangladesh at Dhaka on February 19, 2011.

# Sehwag's double hundred is the fastest in ODIs, having taken 140 balls. Sachin had reached the double hundred off 147 balls.

# India's 153-run victory is their second largest in terms of runs over the West Indies in ODIs, behind the 160-run win at Vadodara on January 31, 2007.

# India posted their fourth bilateral series triumph in succession over the West Indies -- their previous three series victories being by 3-1 in 2006-07 in India; 2-1 in 2009 and 3-2 in 2011 both in the West Indies.

# India have won 45 and lost 57 out of 105 played (Tied 1 & NR 2) against the West Indies --winning percentage of 44.17.

# India have become the first team to register four totals of 400 or more in ODIs -- one each against Sri Lanka [ Images ], South Africa, West Indies and Bermuda.

# India (418/5) posted their highest total in ODIs, outstripping the 414 for seven against Sri Lanka at Rajkot on December 15, 2009.

# India's total is the joint fourth highest in ODIs --  the highest ever is 443 for nine by Sri Lanka against Netherlands at Amstelveen on July 4, 2006.

# India's total is the highest by any team against the West Indies in ODIs, surpassing the 356 four by South Africa at St.George's on April 10, 2007.

# Ravindra Jadeja [ Images ] (3/34) has registered his best bowling figures against West Indies in ODIs. Jadeja now has 50 wickets in ODIs to his credit at an average of 34.76 in 47 matches.

# Denesh Ramdin [ Images ] (96 off 96 balls) posted his highest innings in ODIs -- his third fifty overall.  He has eclipsed his previous best in ODIs -- 74 not out off 83 balls against India at Colombo RPS on August 7, 2005.

# Ramdin's innings is the highest by a West Indian wicketkeeper in ODIs.

# Gautam Gambhir (67 off 67 balls) registered his second fifty against the West Indies - his 28th in ODIs.
