SC allows Bihar, Jharkhand to vote

September 20, 2006 13:40 IST

The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed both the Bihar and Jharkhand state cricket associations to vote in the upcoming elections for the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

The interim order was passed by a bench headed by Justice B N Agarwal.

Earlier, Jharkhand High Court had ordered that the Jharkhand State Cricket Association be allowed to participate in the BCCI's annual general meeting and entitled to contest the Board elections with voting right after observing that the JSCA, headquartered at Jamshedpur, was the original association, which has merely changed its name.
