In an interesting twist, leading actress Anushka Sharma makes a special appearance," read a statement from Pepsi.

The TVC, which released on Thursday, opens with Kohli batting, and sending the ball over the ropes before Ranbir, who is sitting in the crowd, catches the ball with a Pepsi bottle in hand.

Kohli, who is playing for India at the World Cup, was recently involved in a controversy after he abused a journalist about an article that had appeared about him and Anushka in a national daily.

He allegedly used filthy language for some time before storming off after India's practice session in Perth, ahead of their Friday's group match against West Indies.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India took a serious view of Kohli’s foul-mouthed tirade against the journalist and asked him to refrain from "any such behaviour in the future".
