Tiwary returns home after surgery

Bengal batsman Manoj Tiwary, who missed the ODI series against Bangladesh after hurting himself during practice, on Friday returned to his Howrah home following a shoulder surgery at a London hospital.

Manoj was operated upon by noted surgeon Dr Andrew Wallace in London on May 23.

On return, the Bengal cricketer said he would rest for two weeks and after that he would start light practice. Tiwary said he was hoping to regain full fitness in two months.

He also thanked Sachin Tendulkar, who had advised him to go to Dr Wallace.

Manoj was selected to play for India for the one day series against Bangladesh but injured his shoulder during fielding practice on the eve of the first ODI at Dhaka on May 8.

Manoj, a prolific batsman in first-class cricket was on his first tour with the senior team when suffered the injury.
