Tendulkar Junior practices with Team India

January 02, 2011 17:09 IST

It was a net session that even Sachin Tendulkar would have only dreamt of when he started playing cricket.

But for the iconic batsman's son, Arjun, a practice session with the big guns of the Indian cricket team seemed no big deal as it trained ahead the series-deciding third Test against South Africa on Sunday.

While the Indian team was busy slogging it out at the nets at the Newlands ground on Saturday, Arjun was seen practising at the crease on a side net.

After a while, Tendulkar senior himself took charge of the throw-downs, while Arjun had a good time batting.

The 11-year-old also played with the other Team India members, starting with dashing opener Virender Sehwag.

Like his father, Arjun too is a part-time spinner and was seen bowling at pacer S Sreesanth, who hit the rubber ball into the stands.

A keen cricketer, Arjun had made headlines in January last year when he made his debut at the U-13 Cadency Trophy from MIGC Club in Pune.
