The statistical highlights of the second Test between India and Sri Lanka after the fourth day's play in Colombo, on Thursday.

# Both the teams registering 600 or more in their respective first innings has happened for the fourth time and for the third time, the side batting second has overtaken the first innings' total.

# Sachin Tendulkar recorded his fifth double hundred in Tests. He has now posted one double century each against five countries -- Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

# Tendulkar is the fifth batsman to register double hundreds against five countries -- joining  India's Rahul Dravid, West Indian, Brian Lara, Pakistan's Javed Miandad and Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara.

# The Indian record for most double centuries (6) is held by Virender Sehwag.

# Tendulkar took his runs' tally to 772 in six Tests this year at an average of 96.50, including five centuries -- the most by an Indian in 2010.

# Tendulkar is the first batsman to aggregate 1,000 runs against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka, totalling 1060 (average 70.66) in eleven Tests, including five centuries and three fifties.

# Suresh Raina is the 12th Indian (ninth to achieve the feat in debut innings) and the fourth left-handed batsman to post a hundred on debut for India, joining Deepak Shodhan, Surinder Amarnath and Sourav Ganguly against England at Lord's in 1996.

# Raina has accomplished a rare first -- he is the first Indian player to post 100-plus in each format -- Tests, ODIs and Twenty20 Internationals.

# Tendulkar and Raina put on 256 for the fifth wicket -- the highest stand for India against Sri Lanka for any wicket in Sri Lanka.

# The aforesaid partnership is the best by any pair for any wicket against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka, surpassing the 246 (unbroken) for the sixth wicket between Richard Hadlee and Jeff Crowe for New Zealand at Colombo Cricket Club Ground in April 1987.

# Tendulkar, with his first double hundred against Sri Lanka, is the fourth player to achieve the feat against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka, joining New Zealand's Stephen Fleming's unbeaten 274 at Colombo, PSS in 2002-03, West Indian, Brian Lara's 221 at Colombo, SSC in 2001-02 and Virender Sehwag's unbeaten 201 at Galle in  2008.

# Tendulkar is the second Indian batsman to register a double hundred against Sri Lanka. Hitherto, Sehwag was the only one to accomplish the feat -- one each in India and Sri Lanka.
