# Sehwag, with 491 runs, at an average of 122.75 in four innings, including two hundreds and one fifty, is the leading run-getter in the present series, a record for India against Sri Lanka in a Test series.

# Dravid's aggregate of 433, at an average of 108.25, is the second best for India in the current series.

# Muttiah Muralitharan's tally of 97 wickets, at an average of 33.34 in 21 Tests, is the highest by any bowler against India, obliterating Imran Khan's tally of 94 wickets, at an average of 24.04 in 23 Tests.

# VVS Laxman (62 off 91 balls) registered his 42nd fifty in Tests, his sixth against Sri Lanka.

# Sehwag narrowly missed becoming the first batsman to post three triple hundreds. He is now the fourth batsman to be dismissed in the 290s, joining New Zealand's Martin Crowe (299 against Sri Lanka at Wellington in 1990-91) and two West Indians -- Vivian Richards (291 against England at The Oval in August 1976) and Ramnaresh Sarwan (291 against England at Bridgetown in February 2009).

# Australa's Don Bradman is the only batsman in the history of Test cricket to remain unbeaten on 299, against South Africa at Adelaide in January 1932.

# Sehwag's knock of 293 off 254 balls is the third highest innings against Sri Lanka, next only to the 313 by Pakistan's Younis Khan at Karachi in 2008-09 299 by New Zealand's Martin Crowe at Wellington in 1990-91.
