Spotted: Smith, Malinga, Gayle and Samuels

July 14, 2008 18:25 IST

Reader Michael Monthero sent us these pictures.

'I was at the Caribbean with my wife, brother and sister-in-law for the World Cup. We had a ball of a time despite India's disappointing effort. During our  stay at Barbados, Grenada and Antigua we luckily bumped into with quite a few cricket stars,' writes Michael.

'The first picture is of my wife Selsa D'Souza and my sister-in-law Sunaina Bhateja with Graeme Smith after his blazing knock against England in Barbados. We met up with him in Harbor Lights (famous local pub), he came across to as a very down to earth guy who continuously posed with fans for pictures for more than 2 hours.'

'The next picture is of them with Lasith Malinga two days before their semi-final match against NZ. We accidentally bumped into him in a local Chinese restaurant in Grenada.'

'The other two pictures are of the ladies again at the Grenada Airport were we met up with Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels catching a flight back to Barbados. To our awe all of the local Grenadians at the airport refused to recognize them because of their disappointing effort in the Super 8's and guess what they were standing up in a queue behind us for checking in. I don't see that happening to our Indian star cricketers ever.'

Thank you, Michael, for sharing these pictures!
