Indians drop in rankings after Lord's defeat

Indian batsmen, including Sachin Tendulkar, were pushed down the order in the latest ICC Test rankings following the 196-run bashing by England in the series opener at Lord's, on Monday.

While Tendulkar dropped a couple of places to fourth, VVS Laxman was pushed down to seventh place with an aggregate of 771 points.

Virender Sehwag, who missed the Lord's Test due to an injury, dropped to 10th.

Zaheer fifth in bowlers' rankings

In the bowlers' list, Zaheer Khan, forced out of action during the first innings of the Lord's Test with a strained hamstring, is in fifth place.

Harbhajan Singh slipped four rungs and joins Stuart Broad in 11th place.

Board soars in all-rounders' rankings

Board moved to fifth place in the all-rounders ranking, following an unbeaten 74-run knock in the second innings at Lord's, apart from claiming a match haul of seven wickets in the just-concluded Test.

South Africa's Dale Steyn retained the number one slot while James Anderson of England moved to second place with a total of 800 rating points, followed by compatriot Graeme Swann.

Kallis stays atop batsmen's list

Jacques Kallis, meanwhile, continues to dominate the batting chart, followed by England's Jonathan Trott and Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara.

Trott, who scored an impressive half century during the first innings of the Lord's Test, leap-frogged the former Lankan captain and swapped places with Tendulkar.

Pietersen rises to No 15

An unbeaten double century against India helped Kevin Pietersen also rise 14 places to joint 15th, alongside Rahul Dravid, who rose seven places following his unbeaten first innings ton.
