Stats: Team India chasing 45-year-old record in Auckland

Team India is chasing a 45-year-old record at Eden Park tow in the opening Test. West Indies' 348 for five at Auckland in February 1969
is the highest successful chase in the fourth innings of a Test match in New Zealand.

# New Zealand (105) have posted their fourth lowest total against India - their lowest Test total is 94 at Hamilton in the 2002-03 Test.

# New Zealand's lowest total vs India at Auckland is 101 off 61.4 overs in March 1968. 

# Test cricket's lowest ever total is registered at Auckland - 26 off 27 overs by New Zealand vs England in March 1955.

# India, while batting second, have conceded a first innings lead of 301, their second highest to New Zealand. They conceded a first innings lead of 314 in the 2008-09 drawn Napier Test. The scores were New Zealand (619-9 wickets declared) & India (305 & 476-4).

# India have dismissed their opponent's first five batsmen for 25 runs or less five times in an innings - once each against Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Australia, West Indies and New Zealand. 

# Seventeen wickets were taken on the third day - the second most in an Auckland Test. Eighteen wickets fell on the first day in a Test match involving Australia and New Zealand in March 1974. 

# In New Zealand's first and second innings, a difference of 398 runs was witnessed, their highest against India.

Ishant bettered Srinath's record

# Ishant Sharma's (nine wickets) for excellent figures are the best by an Indian medium-pacer in a Test match vs New Zealand, bettering Javagal Srinath's 8 for 108 in the 1999-2000 Mohali Test. 

# Ishant's nine for 162 are his second best in a Test match, next only to the 10 for 108 vs West Indies at Bridgetown in 2011.  

# Ishant's performance is the second best by an Indian bowler in a Test match in New Zealand. Erapalli Prasanna had taken 11 for 140 in the 1975-76 Auckland Test.

Boult recorded his best bowling figures against India
