Former India captain Rahul Dravid lavished praise on Murali Vijay for his good run with bat in recent times.

'I am in a good state of mind'

Apart from the 2nd innings in Nagpur where he made only four runs, Vijay has played solid knocks in the earlier innings. In the first Test in Mohali he had scores of 75 and 47 and in the 2nd Test in Bangalore he made was 28 not out before the rains washed out the rest of the match.
In the first innings in Nagpur his contribution of 40 runs ensured a good start for the team.

Now, heading into the fourth Test Vijay has a total of 194 runs in 5 innings.

During an interaction with fans on the social networking site Facebook, Dravid was effusive in his praise for the India opener.

"I really think Vijay has improved technically as a batsman, a lot over the last couple of years, from the first he came into the team. When he first came into the team there were times when he would get stuck at the crease but lately, over the last couple of years, his technique has been superb.

"His judgement of length and line has been quite exceptional. His performance in very difficult wickets in England and Australia and in some of the turning tracks here has been fantastic."

Dravid hoped that the combination of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane could better the feat achieved by him and Anil Kumble in close-in catching.
