November 07, 2012 17:59 IST

Rohit Sharma will lead Mumbai against defending champions Rajasthan in their second Group 'A' Ranji Trophy league match in Jaipur from November 9 to 12.

Ajit Agarkar, who was to lead Mumbai in the first four games, has to sit out of the match after suffering a calf injury.

Apart from Agarkar, former Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai will also miss the services of pacer Zaheer Khan, Sachin Tendulkar and Ajinkya Rahane. All three played in the opening match against Railways, but are unavailable because of the upcoming four-Test series against England, commencing in Ahmedabad on November 15.

Agarkar picked a "minor" calf injury in the match against the Railways and was advised a few days' rest.

"He will be available for the subsequent games," informed Mumbai Cricket Association joint-secretary Nitin Dalal.

Kshemal Waingankar, Shardul Thakur, Hiken Shah and Akhil Herwadkar are the replacement for the abovementioned players.

The squad: Rohit Sharma (capt), Akhil Herwadkar, Ramesh Powar, Hiken Shah, Aditya Tare, Iqbal Abdullah, Suryakumar Yadav, Kshemal Waingankar, Dhawal Kulkarni, Shardul Thakur, Kaustubh Pawar, Ankit Chavan, Abhishek Nayar, Shoaib Shaikh.
