RCA announces cash award for Rajasthan team

The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) on MOnday announced a cash award of Rs 1.31 crore for the State team that won the Ranji Trophy title for the second consecutive year.

The BCCI has also announced a cash prize of Rs 2 crore for the team after they successfully defended the Ranji Trophy by virtue of first-innings lead against Tamil Nadu, at the Chepauk, in Chennai, on Monday.

"I am immensely pleased by the performance of the team and RCA has decided to honour the players with a cash award of Rs 1.31 crore," said the minister.

"In addition, I would also convince the State Government to announce some award for the team," he added.

Meanwhile, the officiating secretary of the RCA, K K Sharma said that he would insist the state government to provide the state cricket association with all the help to build a world class stadium in Jaipur.
