A patient, unbeaten century by middle order batsman Arpit Vasavada helped Saurashtra score 469 against Karnataka on the second day of their five-day Ranji Trophy quarter-final at the Saurashtra University ground in Rajkot, on Monday.

Overnight batsman Vasavada (152 not out) and Chirag Jani batted steadily in morning before off-spinner Krishnappa Gautham gave the visitors the much-needed breakthrough by dismissing Jani, who scored 36 off 113 balls, including five fours, and added 71 runs with Vasavada for the sixth wicket.

Kamlesh Makwana too made a useful contribution, adding 78 runs for the seventh wicket during which Vasavada completed his century.
