Pakistan drew first blood in the five-match one-day international series against Bangladesh on Tuesday with a 137-run rout.
Pakistani bowlers followed up a ruthless batting performance from Yasir Hameed (116), Inzamam-ul-Haq (56 not out) and Younis Khan (59 not out) which ensured Pakistan posted their highest one-day total against Bangladesh of 323 for three.
In reply, the visitors, who had been beaten 3-0 in the Test series, were bowled out for 186 in 43.2 overs.
All-rounder Abdul Razzak took three for 32 and Mohammad Hafeez three for 17.
Bangladesh skipper Khaled Mahmud said his team had been outclassed by Pakistan.
"It is very difficult to chase a target of 320 on the board. There was no game plan in our approach and we didn't bowl well in the initial overs," Mahmud told reporters.
"You need to give credit to them they batted very well. It is very difficult to chase such a big total once you lose early wickets."
UNBROKEN PARTNERSHIP
Earlier, Yasir Hameed made amends for his involvement in two run-outs by top-scoring as Pakistan piled on the runs.
Hameed and Yousuf Youhana (49) laid the platform with a second-wicket stand of 120 before Inzamam-ul-Haq and Younis Khan took Pakistan past 300 with an unbroken partnership of 112 runs from 67 balls.
The Bangladesh attack of Mashrafe Mortaza, Mushfiqur Rahman and Khaled Mahmud were hammered for 54 runs in the final three overs.
Younis raced to his half century in 27 balls with three sixes and three fours while Inzamam was more sedate, his innings, which included seven fours, came off 48 balls.
Hameed, promoted to open the innings with Mohammad Hafeez, entertained the capacity crowd of 25,000 with some exquisite strokes that yielded 14 fours and two sixes in his 116 runs.
He put on a stand of 62 with Hafeez, who was run out in the 10th over.
Youhana suffered the same fate as his predecessor and was run-out on 49 after being sent back by 25-year-old Hameed.
After reaching his 100 from 122 balls in the 36th over, Hameed was caught at extra cover by Rajin Saleh off Alok Kapali.
The best batting partnership for Bangladesh came in a last ditch stand between Mushfiqur Rahman and Mohammad Rafique (19) who put on 46.
Rahman top scored with 36 from 65 balls and Alok Kapali also made 26 runs.
But Bangladesh's run chase was in trouble from the very first over when Umar Gul trapped Mohammad Ashraful lbw without scoring and wickets fell regularly after that.
Bangladesh have now lost 38 of their last 40 one-day internationals since they beat Pakistan in the 1999 World Cup at Northampton.
