Pakistan name seven uncapped players in Test squad

Pakistan have named seven uncapped players in their squad for next week's first Test match against Bangladesh.

Veteran batsman Inzamam-ul Haq was included in the 15-man squad, named on Saturday by chief selector Aamer Sohail.

"It is a combination of youth and experience and we are basically looking at forming the right combination for the South Africa series," Sohail told Reuters.

Bangladesh plays three Tests and five one-day internationals.

The seven uncapped players include batsmen Saeed Bin Nasir and Farhan Adil and fast bowler Muhammad Khalil who have yet to play any match for Pakistan.

Yasir Hameed, Muhammad Hafeez, Shabbir Ahmed and Umer Gul have played one-day internationals since the World Cup earlier this year.

"The series against Bangladesh is the ideal opportunity for the younger players to establish themselves at the Test level," Sohail said.

Inzamam will be playing his first Test in Pakistan since his record-breaking 329 against New Zealand in April 2001 at Lahore.

"It is great to be back in the team. Once I was called to the camp I was confident I would be picked in the Test squad," Inzamam said from Lahore.

"I am back with a mission. I am motivated for the game and I want to make a comeback with a bang."

Inzamam has emerged as Pakistan's most prolific batsman in recent years scoring 6214 runs at an average of 48.92.
