Numbers To Note, 4th ODI

November 24, 2008 12:43 IST

700 -- Number of One-Day Internationals played by India. They became the first side to reach this landmark.

44 -- Third shortest result oriented match involving India. The shortest remains 30-overs match against England at Chandigarh in 1984-85, followed by 32-overs match against Pakistan at Gujranwala in 1989-90

23 -- Number of sixes hit by Yuvraj against England, most by any Indian batsman. Before this match, Yuvraj was at level with Sourav Ganguly with 20 sixes.

6 -- Virender Sehwag became the sixth Indian batsman to aggregate 6,000 runs in ODIs after Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Mohammad Azharuddin and Yuvraj Singh. Sehwag's average is the lowest among the six, but his strike-rate is the highest.

2 -- Yusuf Pathan became only the second Indian batsman to clobber the only ball faced for a six in a one-day international. Guess, who was the first to do so? Venkatesh Prasad, who achieved the feat against Australia at Nairobi in 2000-01.
