Nasir Hossain turned in a fine all-round show as Bangladesh ‘A’ scored a 65-run victory over India ‘A’ in the second One-dayer and levelled the three-match series, in Bengaluru, on Friday.

The 23-year-old all-rounder first hit an unbeaten hundred and then destroyed the home side with a five-wicked haul as Mominul Haque’s side avenged the 96-run defeat in the first game, at the M Chinnaswamy stadium.

Batting first after being inserted, the tourists posted 252 for eight and then shot out the Unmukt Chand-led side for 187 in 42.2 overs.

The Bangladeshis lost early wickets before Hossain's 96-ball 102, and his 70-run sixth-wicket partnership with Liton Das (45) helped them to a challenging total.

Soumya Sarkar (24), Anamul Haque (34) and Arafat Sunny (17) also contributed to the Bangladesh total.

Medium-pacer Rishi Dhawan bagged three wickets, while leg-spinner Karn Sharma two.

The Indians were never in the chase after the top-order batsmen surrendered to Hossain’s off-spin and Rubel Hossian's medium pace (4-33).

Unmukt top-scored with 56 as Nasir (5-36) rattled the top-order, with Litton taking five catches behind the stumps.

Gurkeerat Singh, who shone with bat and ball in the first match, scoring  58-ball 65 and taking five wickets for 29 runs, went wicketless and contributed 34 before being bowled by Al-Amin Hoosain.

Looking for some batting practice before the South Africa series, senior batsman Suresh Raina failed again, caught behind for 17 off Nasir’s bowling.

The left-hander scored 16 in the first game.

The middle and lower-middle order also failed to offer resistance as Nasir and Rubel called the shots.

There were two ducks in the Indian innings in the form of Sanju Samson and Rishi Dhawan, both major contributors for the hosts in the first one-dayer.

The third and final match is on September 20 at the same venue.

Brief scores:

Bangladesh ‘A’: 252-8 in 50 overs (Nasir Hossain 101 not out, Liton Das 45; Rishi Dhawan 3-44, Karn Sharma 2-40).

India ‘A’: 187 in 42.2 overs (Unmukt Chand 56, Manish Pandey 36; Nasir Hossain 5-36, Rubel Hossain 4-33).
