Former Test opener Lalchand Rajput and Ramesh Kosambia, belonging to the ruling group, were elected joint-secretaries of the Mumbai Cricket Association on Wednesday.

The duo defeated former joint-secretaries Praveen Barve and Vilas Godbole in a four-cornered contest.

Rajput was re-elected for a second term as the ruling group swept the elections.

Ex-Mumbai cricketer Sanjay Patil was among 11 others elected to the managing committee from the 19 contestants in the fray.

Sharad Pawar and Prof Ratnakar Shetty had already been elected unopposed as president and treasurer respectively along with sitting vice-presidents Ravi Sawant and former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar.
