The MCC stampsThe Marylebone Cricket Club, in association with the Bletchley Post Office, released a special stamp commemorating the 75th anniversary of India in Test cricket.

On the occasion, the new Pataudi Trophy was also released in honour of Nawab of Pataudi Sr, who in 1932 played for both England and India.

It was the same year that an Indian Test team stepped out on the cricket field, against England at Lord's.

The stamps feature the trophy and the Board of Control for Cricket in India logo alongside an England Lion.

They will be available in commemorative sheets of 20 stamps and on two first day covers.

The first cover uses artwork by MCC young artist Karen Neale to show the match day view from the Edrich Stand at Lord's.

The second features a montage by Clare Pollitt, taken from the collection of Boria Majumdar. This collection will be on display in the Long Room at Lord's from July 19, the first day of the Test match, for three months.

It will be forerunner of a major exhibition based on the Majumdar Collection to celebrate the history of Indian cricket and the relationship between cricket and empire.

Each of these special envelopes will carry a single hand fixed stamp cancelled for the July 19 match day at Lord's using a unique MCC postmark.
