IPL Governing Council meet over Kochi on Nov 28

November 25, 2010 12:53 IST

With the 30-day notice period given to the Kochi consortium ending on November 27, the IPL Governing Council will meet in Nagpur on Sunday to take a call on the fate of the franchise.

"The IPL Governing Council will meet on November 28 in Nagpur to decide on Kochi," a GC member said.

The meeting comes in the backdrop of media reports that the investor group of the franchisee has informed the BCCI about its decision to withdraw from the Indian Premier League.

The Cricket Board, which terminated the contract of Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab, for allegedly violating contractual agreement last month, had given the consortium members of the Kochi franchisee a period 30 days to resolve their internal disputes.

The BCCI has maintained that similar to the previous three editions, eight teams will participate in IPL-4 which begins on April 8 next year.
