Stats: Rohit Sharma records highest average in IPL 4

Statistical highlights from the Indian Premier League match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings played in Mumbai on Friday

# Andrew Symonds and Rohit Sharma were involved in a fourth wicket partnership of 87 -- Mumbai Indians' best against Chennai in the IPL.

# Symonds, during the course of his 31 not out, completed his 2,000 runs in Twenty20 -- 2027 at an average of 34.35 in 81 matches.

# Rohit (87 off 48 balls) posted his highest innings in the IPL -- his first fifty in the IPL 4 is his 13th in Twenty20.

# Playing in his 50th game, Rohit recorded his ninth half-century in the IPL.

# Rohit became the fifth highest run-scorer in the IPL. The leading six run-getters are -- Suresh Raina (1492), Sachin Tendulkar (1411), Jacques Kallis (1365) and Adam Gilchrist (1329), Rohit Sharma (1304) and Gautam Gambhir (1288).

# Rohit is averaging 134.00 -- the highest in the IPL 4 -- the next best being Sachin Tendulkar (120.50).

# Harbhajan Singh (5 for 18) produced his first five-wicket haul in Twenty20.

# Harbhajan's previous best figures in the IPL were 4 for 17 against Delhi at Centurion on May 21, 2009.

# Harbhajan is the second Mumbai bowler after Lasith Malinga and the sixth overall to bag five wickets in an innings in

the IPL.


Apart from Harbhajan and Malinga, Sohail Tanvir, Anil Kumble, Amit Mishra and Lakshmipathy Balaji have taken five wickets or more in an innings in the IPL.

# Only Lasith Malinga -- 13 at 10.38 runs apiece in five games -- has claimed more wickets than Harbhajan's seven in four matches in the IPL 4.

# Ambati Rayudu has managed to make 194 (ave.48.50) runs in five matches -- the second highest for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 4, behind Sachin Tendulkar's 241 (ave.120.50).


Harbhajan was adjudged the Man of the Match for the third time in the IPL.

# Mahendra Singh Dhoni stumped four batsmen -- the most by a wicketkeeper in the IPL 2011. With 14

stumpings overall, Dhoni has emulated Adam Gilchrist's tally in the IPL.

# Michael Hussey is averaging 66.00 in the fourth edition of the IPL, aggregating 126

in four innings, including one fifty.

# Malinga (46 at 17.19 in 31 matches) is now all set to complete his 50

in the IPL. His tally is the highest for Mumbai Indians.

# Mumbai's eight-run victory is their second narrowest in the IPL -- their smallest being by four runs against Rajasthan Royals at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on May 13, 2010.

# Mumbai have become the first team to record four victories in the IPL 4,

earning eight points.
