Paul Valthaty continues to be IPL 4's most valuable player (MVPI 376), but Lasith Malinga (350), with the purple cap and Virat Kohli (327), with his newly-earned orange cap, are fast rising up the ranks.
All-rounders, especially batting all-rounders, continue to offer great value. In fact, our MVP table suggests that explosive batsmen (with strike rates around 140), who can bowl some slow stuff and take some wickets, are the best buys in the IPL.

Please note that some players (especially foreign players) have a high paisa vasool index (PVI) because they have been obliged to occasionally sit on the bench because of the 4-player restriction.
A PVI below 3000 would qualify as a 'good' performance. A PVI above 5000 is definitely 'worrying'.
