Deccan Chargers look to revive fortune against Royal Challengers

April 14, 2011 13:52 IST

The series of defeats is not taking a toll on the Deccan Chargers, as the team looks ahead to their third game in the ongoing Indian Premiere League (IPL).

This was the contention of Darren Lehman, coach of the team as the players geared up to take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore during a media briefing in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

The Deccan Chargers will face Royal Challengers on Thursday.

"No, if you lose a game there is nothing to do with jinx. It is the case of not playing well now. So, for us, we are home we are going to make that the result comes our way soon. I think the fans also want us to win the game soon so, we will play well, we will get back in form," said Lehman.

A day prior to the game Lehman inspected the pitch and noted the strip looks good giving both, the bowler and the batsman a fair chance.

"The pitch is good; obviously it played really well in other games in the series so far. Probably we are still to get 155-160. It is good for batting, if you get going. So, the wicket is good, it has good bounce, good carry. It also has some spin, so probably it is one of the better wickets in the IPL," added Lehman.

Deccan Chargers have lost consecutive games against Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing IPL tourney.

Deccan Chargers in the fourth edition is led by wicket-keeper Kumar Sangakkara whereas Royal Challengers Bangalore is led by Daniel Vettori.
