England Lions elect to bat

England Lions' skipper Andrew Strauss won the toss and elected to bat against the Indians in their final three-day warm up match, ahead of the first Test against England, in Chelmsford, on Friday.

The Indians are being led by Sachin Tendulkar, as skipper Rahul Dravid opted out of the match following a calf muscle injury he sustained earlier.

The visitors left out Ranadeb Bose while naming Gautam Gambhir as the 12th man.

The teams:

Indians: Sachin Tendulkar (captain), Wasim Jaffer, Dinesh Karthik, Sourav Ganguly, V V S Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wk), Zaheer Khan, S Sreesanth, Ishant Sharma and Ramesh Powar. 12th man: Gautam Gambhir.

England Lions: Andrew Strauss (captain), Joe Denly, Owais Shah, Jonathan Trott, Ravi Bopara, Tim Ambrose (wk), Adil Rashid, Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Chris Tremlett and Graham Onions.
