WI ODIs: Gambhir to lead; Sachin, Dhoni rested

Gautam Gambhir [ Images ] will lead India [ Images ] in the ODI and T20 series on the upcoming tour of the West Indies [ Images ] after regular skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni [ Images ] asked to be rested.

Suresh Raina [ Images ] will be Gambhir's deputy.

Seniors Sachin Tendulkar [ Images ] and Zaheer Khan [ Images ] have also been rested for the five-match ODI series, beginning June 4, but will play in the Tests that follow.

In the absence of the abovementioned players, Parthiv Patel [ Images ], S Badrinath, Rohit Sharma [ Images ], Praveen Kumar [ Images ], Ishant Sharma [ Images ], R Vinay Kumar, Amit Mishra [ Images ] and Wriddhiman Saha, who were all not in the triumphant World Cup squad, return to the fold.
