Tsotsobe cherishes Sachin's wicket

January 13, 2011 12:07 IST

South Africa's wrecker-in-chief in the 135-run win over India, medium pacer Lonwabo Tsotsobe, is on a high as one among his four victims was Sachin Tendulkar but he prefers not to talk about it as he does not want to "anger" the batting icon.

"I got a big wicket (Sachin) and I am happy for that. I am not going to predict anything related to that as I don't want to get that man angry," Tsotsobe, who was adjudged man of the match yesterday, told reporters.

Meanwhile, Proteas skipper Graeme Smith lavished praise on his batsmen for putting a challenging 289 on the board.

"I don't think it was a 300-plus wicket. Keeping in mind the slow nature of the outfield getting to 289 was great effort. We got good starts as Hashim Amla played so well and then in the middle overs AB (de Villiers) and JP (Duminy) played well that actually set up the game for us. Batting power play worked very well for us," he said.

Smith was particularly impressed with Hashim Amla, who scored a fifty on Wednesday.

"Every time he got an opportunity he has done well. He has developed good understanding of the game and how he wants to play. He is playing with a lot of confidence. He has worked out a gameplan for himself," he said.

Smith said despite the massive win notched up by his side in the opening match, he expects the Indians to come back hard in the next match on Saturday.

"I expect them to bounce back. We have put our foot down at the next match. After a while we will be playing at the Bull Ring. It is one of the best grounds to play cricket and that too on Saturday," he said.
