Stats: Trott's average is 2nd best only to Sir Bradman!

Statistical highlights of the first day's play in the first Test between India and England at Lord's in London.

# Jonathan Trott (58 not out) posted his seventh half-century in Tests, his first against India.

# Among the batsmen with at least 20 innings in Tests, Trott's present average of 64.16 is the second highest in Tests (1925 runs in 22 Tests), next only to Sir Donald Bradman's 99.94.

Jonathan Trott# In England, Trott has managed 1154 runs at an average of 82.42 in 17 innings, including four hundreds and four fifties.

# Trott's record at Lord's is superb -- his unbeaten 58 is his fourth score of 50 or more at the venue. He has amassed 564 (ave.141.00) in six innings at this venue.

# Zaheer Khan has dismissed Andrew Strauss six times in six Tests. Shane Warne had claimed his wicket eight times in 10 Tests.

# Cook took his runs' tally to 591 at an average of 98.50 in six innings (five Tests), including three centuries and two fifties -- the most by any batsman this year.

# Cook has aggregated 539 runs in eight Tests at an average of 38.50) against India.

# Had Cook posted a fifty, he would have become the first English player to register seven fifties in consecutive innings. Prior to his knock of 12 against India, he had recorded 82 and 189 against Australia and 133, 96, 106 & 55 against Sri Lanka in his last six innings.

# Sir Everton Weekes (West Indies), Andy Flower (Zimbabwe) and Shivnarine Chanderpaul (West Indies) are the three players to register fifties in seven successive innings.

# The 100th Test between England and India is cricket history's 2000th.
