Left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha claimed eight wickets as India A crushed South Africa A win by an innings and 242 runs with a day to spare in the four-day match at Ferozshah Kotla ground in New Delhi on Sunday.

The Hyderabadi spinner took three wickets (3 for 29) in the first innings and followed it up with a five-wicket haul (5 for 66) to skittle out the visitors cheaply.

Resuming the third day on 93 for two in their first innings, the Africans could add just 52 runs as Ojha and Amit Mishra took three wickets each to spin them out for a paltry 145 for nine as Alviro Petersen did not bat.

Overnight bastmen Morne van Wyk (67) and skipper Boeta Dippenaar (26) added 46 runs for the third wicket before Delhi paceman Ishant Sharma sent back Wyk to open the floodgates.

The wicket of van Wyk triggered a collapse as South Africa A batsmen succumbed to the spin magic of Ojha and Mishra to be bowled out for 145 in 45.4 overs.

With a first innings lead of 443 runs, it came as no surprise when India A skipper Mohammad Kaif enforced the follow on.

The Africans' began on bad note in the second innings as well with both openers, van Wyk and Werner Coetsee, were cooling their heels in the dressing room before the lunch break as South Africa A were reduced to 28 for 2.

It was a big task for Hasim Amla and Petersen to lay the foundation for a big partnership, but worst was in the store for them as Amla was bowled off the first ball after the tea break by Ojha.

Petersen fell leg before wicket to Sharma for six as South Africa A were left reeling at 52 for 4 in the 22nd over.

Wicketkeeper Thamie Tsolokile was the only batsman to offer some resistance with a sparkling knock of 63 not out, that included eight boundaries and two sixes..

Ojha finished on 5 wickets for 66 runs in the second innings as South Africa were bowled out for 201 in 68.2 overs to lose the match by a huge margin of an innings and 242 runs.
