India remained third, while star batsman Virat Kohli maintained his second spot in the latest ICC ODI rankings released on Sunday.

World champions Australia retained their top ranking following their 58-run victory over the West Indies in the final of the tri-series in Barbados last Sunday, but South Africa dropped behind India in fourth place after failing to reach that tri-series final.

Australia had started the series on 124 points and finished on 123 points, to lead second-ranked New Zealand by 10 points.

South Africa dropped two points – following three loses and one no-result in the tei-series -- to join India on 110 points, but is still behind Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s side when the points are calculated beyond the decimal point.

West Indies continue to stay in seventh place but have gained six points, having reached the tri-series final, to open up a seven-point advantage over eighth-ranked Pakistan.

In the bowlers’ rankings, South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada, Josh Hazlewood of Australia and West Indies captain Jason Holder have achieved career-best rankings after impressive performances in the tri-series.

Rabada has jumped six places to join seventh-ranked compatriot Dale Steyn after he finished the series with seven wickets.

Twenty-five-year-old Hazlewood has vaulted eight places to 15th after he ended up as the third most successful bowler behind fourth-ranked Imran Tahir (13) and No 1 Sunil Narine (12) with 11 wickets, while Holder has broken into the top 20 to climb four places to the 20th position.

India left-arm spinner Axar Patel gained a place to move to 12th in the standings.

In the batsmen’s rankings, South Africa’s AB de Villiers continues to lead the pack with Kohli in second spot.
