Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly arrived in Potchefstroom on Tuesday and immediately got down to business by taking part in the nets after a handshake with coach Greg Chappell.

The left-hander, sporting the India blazer, reached Johannesburg this morning, drove down for two hours to reach the team hotel at 10.15 a.m and before the clock had struck 12, joined his mates in the nets at the Sedgars Park.

Ganguly, the country's most successful Test skipper, stood for a while in the nets before walking up to Chappell, with whom he has not had the best of relations, and shaking hands with him.

Chappell said a few words before taking his position at one of the nets.

Dravid, who still has a plaster on his right middle finger, kept knocking a few balls in the side nets before coming over and greeting Ganguly, who inquired about his finger injury.

Sachin Tendulkar later joined Ganguly for a little run though there was no handshake which would have delighted the assembled camerapersons and photographers.

Harbhajan Singh and Virender Sehwag, two known supporters of Ganguly, were discreet in their greetings to their former captain.

Ganguly has virtually risen from the ashes, returning to the national fold after a gap of nine months -- having last played for India in the Karachi Test against Pakistan in February.
