Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has admitted that his side need to work on their fitness and fielding ahead of next year's World T20 tournament following his side's three-run defeat against England in the second Twenty20 international in Dubai.
T20: England edge Pakistan by three runs after Afridi blitz
Congratulating the England team, Afridi, however, admitted that his side missed a number of good opportunities to win.
The Pakistan chase appeared to be faltering until Afridi arrived at the crease with the hosts on 120-6 with a little over three overs remaining and smashed 24 runs off eight balls that included three sixes and a four.
Having dragged Pakistan back to within 25 runs of victory with two overs remaining, Afridi's march was halted and England were able to breathe a sigh of relief as he sliced a Chris Woakes delivery to Liam Plunkett.
Pakistan bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed has insisted that his team need to improve their fitness level.
Former leg-spinner Ahmed said that modern cricket requires fielding and better fitness and insisted that Pakistan need to raise their performance and fitness in order to compete at the highest level.
