Mahendra Singh DhoniApparently angry over captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s decision to field first in the fourth One-dayer against Australia in Ranchi, an unidentified person pelted a stone at Dhoni’s house in the Harmu Housing Colony on Wednesday night.

As a result, a window pane was broken.

While the police ordered an investigation into the incident, the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) demanded to know who is behind the 'dirty' work.

"By and large sports lovers and people of Ranchi are good. But there are exceptions, and this is the work of some dirty people," JSCA president Amitabh Choudhary said.

"What is important is (to know) who are behind it and doing such dirty things?" the head of BCCI's Marketing Committee said, urging the police to find the culprit.

Dhoni’s family was present at the JSCA International Stadium to watch the match, which was abandoned after rain during India's innings.

Chasing 296 for victory, India were 27 for no loss in 4.1 overs when rain forced play to be halted.

Dhoni’s under-construction house was also attacked in 2007 when India lost a World Cup against Bangladesh. Angry fans then demolished an under-construction wall around the house.

India trail the seven-match ODI series against Australia 1-2.
