Lending some credence to allegations by Anil Kaul, the liaison officer of the Pakistan team during the Champions Trophy, against Shoaib Akhtar, Indian cricket team coach Greg Chappell on Monday said that the Pakistan speedster was making a nuisance of himself in the hotel where he was staying.

However, Chappell denied that Akhtar knocked his Jaipur hotel room door that night.

"He did not knock my door. He was making a nuisance of himself in the vicinity," Chappell told news channel Headlines Today.

The former Australian captain said he did not file any complaint against Akhtar over the incident.

"It is a matter for the Pakistan Cricket Board to deal with. I have not filed any report against Akhtar," he said.

Kaul had alleged that Akhtar had slapped Pakistan team coach Bob Woolmer and misbehaved with a woman at a discotheque and created a ruckus in the team hotel, banging the door of Indian coach Greg Chappell who was also staying in the same hotel.

However, Akhtar has denied the charges, saying it was a conspiracy to destroy his reputation.

The PCB, while deciding to investigate the matter, charged Kaul with breaking all norms of decency.

On the decision-making process involving him and India skipper Rahul Dravid, Chappell said the captain had the final say. "I share a good relation with Rahul. We have a similar philosophy. If it gets to a stage where we have different views and when a decision has to be made, it is imperative that Rahul has the freedom to choose the team he needs to win," Chappell said.
