Former England cricketer Ian Pont has considered tainted player Mohammad Amir's technique as a fast swing bowler to be better than the legend Wasim Akram.

According to the Express Tribune, Pont felt that Amir has the potential of being as good as Akram and added that the only thing which can stop him is Amir himself.

Considering Amir as one of the finest left-arm prospects, Pont said that the 23-year-old has a strong, repeatable action that helps him be consistent in release of the ball.

Pont further said that Amir's ability to shape and swing the ball at pace makes him such a great bowler.

The tainted trio of Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt were found guilty of various offences of corrupt behavior relating to the Lords Test between England and Pakistan in 2010.

Earlier in the year, the left-armer had received permission from the ICC to return early to domestic cricket and has made a promising start in his bid to make an international comeback.
