The International Cricket Council has taken serious note of former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram's assertion that white people are dominating the affairs in International Cricket Council and Asian cricketers are being neglected.
ICC president Ehsan Mani told reporters in Lahore that the game's governing would be sending the former all-rounder a restraining letter.
''It is a wrong impression. We are the custodians of the game and we have a uniform policy to treat players in all cricket-playing countries. Seventy percent of the ICC staff comprises Asian people,'' the Rawalpindi-born Mani said.
He said it is wrong to assume that the ICC has a biased attitude towards Asian countries. Mani said non-white officials like Pakistani umpires Aleem Dar, Nadeem Ghori and Asad Rauf are working for the ICC. Sri Lanka's Ranjan Madugalle and Roshan Mahanama are also on ICC match referees' panel, he added.
