Afridi undergoes dope test
T20 World Cup
June 22, 2009 14:32 IST

The International Cricket Council [Images] conducted a dope test on the Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi [Images] after his team won the Twenty20 [Images] World Cup title defeating Sri Lanka [Images] in the final at Lord's.

Afridi, who was man-of-the-match in Pakistan's eight-wicket victory over their sub-continental rivals in Sunday night's summit clash, was called for the surprise test by ICC [Images] officials after the match.

The dope test is believed to be part of ICC's routine practice under which any cricketer could be called for such a test during ICC events.
