Gujarat off-spinner Mohnish Parmar, who is alleged to have a suspect bowling action, will undergo a rehabilitation programme at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore to correct it.

"I have been asked to attend a rehabilitation programme by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at the NCA from January 23," Parmar told PTI on Wednesday.

At NCA, Parmar will be guided by a bio-mechanist from Australia [Images] who will help improve his bowling action.

Parmar, whose bowling action resembles that of Sri Lankan great Muttiah Muralitharan [Images], ended as the second highest wicket taker in the recently concluded Ranji Trophy claiming 41 wickets from just 8 matches, with a best of 6/51 and an economy rate of 2.34.

The BCCI had sent the 20-year-old spinner to Australia, last month, to get his action reviewed and based on the report has directed him to undergo a rehabilitation before returning to competitive cricket.

Asked whether there were any complaints against his action during the Ranji Trophy, he said, there were some talks going on regarding his action due to which he was sent to Australia.
