Former Australia [Images] all-rounder Darren Lehmann has joined the list of potential candidates to take over as England [Images] coach.

Lehmann said he has not yet discussed his availability with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) but is interested in the position after it became available following the sacking of Peter Moores.

"I'll talk to them if they want to talk to me," Lehmann told Sydney's Sun-Herald newspaper on Sunday.

"It's something I would definitely consider... you would never knock back an opportunity like that."

Lehmann played 27 Tests and 117 one-day internationals for Australia and was a member of the teams that won the 1999 and 2003 World Cups.

The 38-year-old is well known in England after spending more than a decade playing for Yorkshire and recently turned his hand to coaching after retiring in 2007, taking charge of Australia's academy side and an Indian Premier League [Images] team.
