Khirid stars in Mumbai Champs' first victory

Mumbai Champs turned in a determined all-round performance to beat Delhi [Images] Giants by 58 runs and register their first victory in the ICL20s Indian Championship in Gurgaon on Thursday night.

Ranjit Khirid was adjudged the man of the match for his stupendous performance with both bat and ball.

He scored an unbeaten 43, after Delhi Giants captain Marvan Atapattu won the toss put Mumbai in to bat, and then claimed two wickets for 22 runs from three overs to check the Delhi's side's runs chase.

Delhi Giants, replying to Mumbai's 174-4, were all all out for 116 in 17.3 overs.

Avinash Yadav (4 for 18) and Anupam Sanklecha (2 for 31) also played vital roles in Delhi's Giants' rout.
