Though Mahendra Singh Dhoni [Images] is known more for his swashbuckling batting, the limited overs captain on Tuesday said he can curb his strokeplay if the situation demanded such an approach.

"It depends what is needed at that point of time. So, according to the situation such changes come up," Dhoni said referring to his performance during the recently concluded tour of Australia.

Dhoni returns home to a rousing welcome

Dhoni, whose efforts in the tri-series included innings of 37, 88 not out, 17 not out and 50 not out, completing 3,000 ODI runs in the meantime, said his natural instincts were intact.

As Jharkhand is throwing up cricketers like Sourav Tiwari who played in the Under-19 World Cup, Dhoni said he would set up a cricket academy in his hometown Ranchi to groom more cricketers.

"It is there in my mind though not much progress has been made because of the time factor. But with a proper plan, it will be there. If not immediately, let us hope in the future," Dhoni said.
